The highly anticipated Hurricane Matthew is set to hit the sunshine state late Thursday night and wreak havoc through the weekend-- causing for major cancellations across the board.
Theme parks like Legoland and SeaWorld have already announced their closures for Thursday. Disney says Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon will be closed both Thursday October 6th and Friday October 7th because of the storm.
Also, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has been canceled for Thursday, but Magic Kingdom will continue to run on normal operating hour; guests will be refunded upon request.
Guests have been evacuated from Fort Wilderness and relocated to other hotels as the storm continues to gain steam.
Right now, The Walt Disney Company is hesitant to close any of its four major theme parks, but is contemplating scaling back operation hours.
With severe weather in the forecast, Walt Disney World has put together "Ride Out Crews" that will venture to resorts where guests may be isolated. Many visitors plan to ride out the storm from the comfort of their hotel room-- and if the weather is extreme, Disney will bring extra magic to the resorts. Participating cast members will bring entertainment, character meet and greets, games, food, etc. Interested guests can check with their front desk Thursday and Friday morning to see what the schedules are.
