Review: Blaze Pizza Starts Serving Up Full Pies in a Matter of Minutes

12:14am ET

Disney is a known destination for lengthy, slow-paced lines.. but Disney Springs' newest eatery didn't get the memo. The shopping center's new restaurant focuses on a kid-friendly specialty that the Springs was lacking-- pizza. Blaze Pizza cranks out customized, 11' personal pies in just 3 minutes. At an affordable price, guests can choose their type of crust, sauce, meat toppings, vegetables, cheeses and dressing for a flat rate of $9.65 (unless you are wanting a specialty crust).

At just under $10, there is no limit to how many toppings you ask for, and with Blaze Pizza's signature fire-blasted oven, it can be cooked in just 180 seconds.

Other offerings include salads (Caesar or Strawberry), s'mores pie, assorted sweets and fountain drinks-- which include unique choices like Prickly Pear, Key Lime Mint or Blood Orange Agua Fresca (highly recommended).

The easy way to explain Blaze is to say it's the pizza version of a Subway or Chipotle in the sense that you run down the assembly line telling the overly helpful employees what you want on top of your pie-- but this is a much better return on investment than the fast food joints named prior. Towards the end, the pizza is thrown in the oven and a cast member will call your name out when it's ready, but stand by, because it doesn't take long. Another enticing aspect of this quick service restaurant is that it offers a multitude of discounts. Blaze is on the Disney Dining Plan and is accepting both Annual Passes and Cast Member discounts at their Disney Springs location. Now let's focus on the food:

What I ordered:

I had an original crust pizza with: spicy red sauce, feta, gorgonzola, banana peppers, mushrooms and olives. The spicy red sauce was so robust with a nice kick from red chili flakes-- it was absolutely stellar. The mushrooms, olives and banana peppers all had good flavor and certainly stood out on their own. With a line out the door (approximately 14 people), it only took about 9 minutes from when I stepped in line until I got my pizza. The only thing I would have done differently, would have been to add more cheese! At $9.65 no matter what you order, you can't really go wrong. Overall consensus:

Blaze Pizza offers a quick and filling bite to eat with a price cheaper than your typical Orlando theme park areas. With customizable options, guests can always find something to satisfy their craving. It's fair to assume Blaze will be quite busy at Disney Springs because it offers the ultimate meal with the flexibility and uniqueness of their menu ingredients as well as the lightning fast service.
