Disney Floral & Gifts and Lucas Films are joining forces to bring Disney guests their very own augmented reality experience. The Star Wars Rebels Interactive Adventure submerses smartphone gamers into the galactic universe as they join the rebellion and embark on a mission.
The app has multiple clues that carry the player throughout the journey at the Walt Disney World Resort as they try to reach either Disneyland's or Hollywood Studios' Star Tours. With Ezra Bridger (Star Wars Rebels) as the mission-guide, the smartphone user must take pictures and scan specific (Wayfinders) in an attempt to take down the Empire. Special information is made available by Ezra as the mission progresses, and special gear delivered to the player helps further the adventure.
Once the top-secret mission is completed, rebels can be rewarded with a medal of bravery and utility blanker. For roughly $500, players can use the app to navigate through missions and add members to their party if more than one would like to play. Gaming starts on August 15th.
