Disney Movie Magic is a new nightly show at Hollywood Studios, featuring some of the company's top live-action films in history.
This show was unannounced and debuted Friday May 26. We caught our first glimpse on Saturday May 27 and were given a heads up by a voice over the intercom asking guests to arrive on Hollywood Boulevard for a new 9 o'clock show.
The show starts off with a nostalgic message from Walt Disney himself and then transitions through some of the biggest feature films including:
Tron
Guardians of the Galaxy
Pirates of the Caribbean
Mary Poppins and much more
The show runs just under 10 minutes and the best way to describe it is as a projection show version of an updated "Great Movie Ride." This performance could be a placeholder for the attraction's imminent closing. The retirement of the Great Movie Ride comes as Disney's Hollywood Studios undergoes a complete transformation.
