Orange County officials confirm that Disneyland has submitted plans to add a fourth Disney-themed hotel onsite in Anaheim. The massive 10-acre campus will house 700-rooms and a parking structure by the Downtown Disney shopping district. The project is slated to open in 2021, just three years after starting construction (2018).
The hotel doesn't have a theme, but now, Walt Disney Imagineers will begin working extensively on the layout and concept art. One of the top-notch amenities this hotel will offer is a rooftop viewing section, where guests can lounge and watch the fireworks shoot over Sleeping Beauty's castle. More features include multiple swimming pools, restaurants, a gym and a children's play area.
One interesting thing to note is that this new development will be tagged with a :four-diamond" rating by AAA. In Anaheim, in order to receive a grade like that, Disney will need to spend AT LEAST $225,000 per room. Disney did not specify how much money they will pump into this hotel, but it will add hundreds, if not thousands of jobs--- just 2 weeks after presidential candidate Bernie Sanders bashed the company for their pay and job rates.
