Over the weekend both Pocahontas and Mulan starting wearing brand new, elegant dresses at Walt Disney World. These two transformations are just the latest phase of the re-imagining of Disney characters. Within the last 3 years, Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle and Ariel have all upgraded their gowns. So what's next? In a loose timeline, I've put together a confirmed list of what characters will be rocking new threads in the upcoming months.
Aladdin and Jasmine will debut a new look this summer
Prince Eric, Prince Phillip, Prince Charming and the Snow Prince will debut this fall
Beast is slated for end of fall (early winter)
Mickey and Minnie will be sporting new looks in Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire
Aladdin and Jasmine The stars of Agrabah will undergo a transformation that will be a bit more polarizing than recent changes. Jasmine will be ditching the belly-shirt and moving to a more conservative look. Meanwhile, Aladdin will begin meeting as his royal self in a new Prince Ali outfit. Once these changes take place, guests will only be able to meet him as Prince Ali when he's with Jasmine. The "street rat" look will only be available when he makes appearances by himself or with Abu. Prince Eric
Eric will be ditching his sailor suit for a more regal look when comes out to visit in the fall. From that point on, fans will be confined to meeting him as a prince, rather than having the chance to meet him as the great sailor he is known to be. Luckily, he will still be in his jeans and white shirt over at Hollywood Studios' Voyage of The Little Mermaid. Prince Phillip, Prince Charming and Snow Prince All three of these characters will receive minor costume upgrades, modernizing their outfits. Prince Philip's
will be the most noticeable-- mainly because there have been several different renditions between animated features and live action films. These three princes can typically be met with their princesses during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.
Beast Beast first debuted his new look aboard the Disney Magic in May. He looks more slender, and definitely more inviting, representing his evolved personality from the end of the animated feature. Beast can be meet at Be Our Guest restaurant in the Magic Kingdom, see him during the park's Festival of Fantasy Parade as well as watch him at Hollywood Studios' Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage show. Mickey and Minnie The lovely mice were showing off their new look in Shanghai during some events. Once Shanghai Disneyland officially opens on June 16, 2016, they will begin making trips to all Disney parks across the globe showing just how young they still look.
