Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea are gearing up for a special 'Disney Tanabata Days' event starting June 15th. Mickey and Minnie will be wearing a brand new overlay, themed to the promotion and will be worn during the 'Tanabata Greeting.'
Here's a look at Mickey and Minnie's new outfits:
Tanabata, also known at the Star Festival, is a Japanese celebration originating from the Chinese Qixi Festival. It celebrates the meeting of the Gods Orihme and Hikoboshi.
Guests will see themed offerings and promos throughout Tokyo Disneyland's parade route, Tokyo DisneySea 's Mediterranean Harbor where the characters will arrive on the waters and in each park there will be a "Wishing Place" where guests can write a "Wishing card (strip)" shaped like Mickey Mouse and connect it.
Tanabata at Tokyo Disney Resort runs from Thursday, June 15 to Friday, July 7.
