'Agent Carter' & 'The Muppets' Among 11 Axed by ABC

ABC delivering a boatload of bad news to couch potatoes on Thursday, announcing nearly a dozen TV cancellations; including The Muppets and Agent Carter.

The Muppets was originally rebooted in the fall where classic characters starred in their first and final season. The show still had the nostalgic jokes and gimmicks-- but trying to keep up with modern pop-culture, some of the gags were borderline PG-13. In their lone season, The Muppets bulled in a jarring rating of just 1.7 and only had around 5 million total viewers according to Nielsen ratings. Unfortunately, it looks like "Wocka Wocka" will become a dated phrase with this show going of the air for what appears to be quite some time.

Marvel's Agent Carter had a longer run the The Muppets, but not by much. The show inspired by the Captain America comics lasted a mere two season; it's case closed for Agent Carter. The ratings dipped from season 1 to season 2 (like many other shows) but ABC decided to come down hard the comic book side-story.

Here are all of the shows ABC cancelled today:

  • Agent Carter

  • The Astronaut Wives Club

  • Castle

  • The Family

  • Galavant

  • The Muppets

  • Rookie Blue

  • The Whispers

  • Nashville

  • Of Kings and Prophets

  • Wicked City
