"Star Wars Show" to Give Weekly Updates, Interviews, Other News


Digital media is feeling the force.. and the new "Star Wars Show" is going to be filling that void.

Lucasfilm and Disney Consumer Products have come together with Interactive media to create a show, ultimately giving Star Wars fans what they've been waiting for. Actor Peter Townley cohosts the segment with StarWars.com digital communications manager Andi Gutierrez.

Premiering today, the weekly seven-minute broadcast recaps the biggest galactic news and events, in addition to conducting interviews with superfans and celebrities.

Per Variety: “There’s an abundance of Star Wars news and information right now and for the foreseeable future,” said Mickey Capoferri, Senior Director of Content and Programming at Lucasfilm. “‘The Star Wars Show’ will be the place for new and old fans to engage with every aspect of the franchise in fun and authentic ways.”

Episodes of "The Star Wars Show" will hit youtube 3p.m. EST on the Star Wars Youtube Channel the official apps on iOs and Android devices, as well as on social media accounts like Facebook and Twitter.

These episodes will cover exclusive news and sidebars about everything in the Star Wars universe, including: films, TV shows, books, comics, video games, toys, merchandise, etc. Certain episodes will also showcase never before scene footage and what goes on behind the camera.

Senior Director of Content and Programming at Lucasfilm Mickey Capoferri says the guest lineups have not been announced yet-- but actors from the films are certainly in play to make appearances.
