Disney's Jungle Cruise attractions will stop the use of the crocodile/ginger snaps jokes for the foreseeable future, per Jungle Cruise Skipper. This decision coming in light of the tragic loss of a 2-year old boy at the Grand Floridian Resort after an alligator dragged him into the Seven Seas Lagoon. This happened around 9:30pm Tuesday night, and after several hours, a rescue mission soon turned into a search mission. Orange County Deputies say it was movie night at the resort and the boy was on the beach, wading in the water. The alligator then grabbed him and dragged him in. The mother and father tried to save him and fight off the gator, but were unsuccessful. Alligators are indigenous to central Florida and have been spotted on Disney property many times. Many signs around the resorts with beaches say "no swimming," but the alligator could've very well walked up onto the shoreline. Since the incident, Florida Fish and Wildlife have euthanized 5 gators in the vicinity of the incident.
Disney is sending their condolences and showing their compassion by making these changes.
