New Star Wars Announcements Made for Hollywood Studios at Rogue One Event

3:00pm ET

Much of the hype circulating Disney's special Rogue One: A Star Wars Story event was EPCOT's Spaceship Earth transforming into the Death Star-- but the main focus was updated experiences coming to Hollywood Studios. Before making the trip to Hollywood Studios, first, take a look at the iconic Spaceship Earth turning into the Death Star below.

Synced up with Rogue One's release date, Hollywood Studios will be adding new characters to their show: 'Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away.' Advanced Weapons Research (AWF) Troopers will be joining the show in an updated format starting December 16.

Star Tours will also be bringing back their special element of surprise. The attraction will be going back to its old ways of randomizing sections of the ride.. launching guests into virtually any part of the galaxy and encountering any character seen in the first 7 episodes.

Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular is back. Starting on the night Rogue One premieres, the fireworks show (which was originally suspended for Jingle Bell Jingle BAM!) will begin nightly operations once again. The fireworks are scheduled at 10:30pm on 12/16, 9:30pm 12/17 and at 6:15pm 12/18-12/30. Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! will continue its nightly showings-- giving Hollywood Studios three different nighttime shows (2 fireworks + Fantasmic!).

A guided, Star Wars tour is also coming to Hollywood studios. The 7-hour tour will include access to Star Tours, the Jedi Training Academy, Launch Bay, a Star Wars-themed meal and reserved seating for the dessert party and fireworks.

Below is new merchandise coming to Disney Parks starting December 16.
