Mary Poppins Sequel Could Feature Original, Beloved Stars

2:52am ET

The Mary Poppins sequel might just be the most talked about topic not to make headlines. Many rumors have been circulating the film, and many of them have been confirmed. For example, Emily Blunt and Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda starring in the musical. Now-- Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke are believed to have an appearance in the film. The original Mary and Bert would certainly draw reluctant fans to come give this sequel a chance and would add a nostalgia element to the movie. According to E! News, a representative for Julie Andrews says there have been "no discussion" about making an appearance. Recently Meryl Streep came onboard as Topsy, the nanny's cousin, in what is shaping up to be a star-studded cast. Streep and Blunt (Mary Poppins) have also worked together on projects such as Into the Woods and The Devil Wears Prada. Mary Poppins Returns is set to hit theaters December 28, 2018.
