His time might not be ending now, but when it does, Tony Stark will be replaced by Riri Williams. The successor of the ever so popular Iron Man is a 15-year-old science genius, who creates the Iron Man suit in her dorm at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Per Variety, Marvel writers say Tony stark's run will end after the "Civil War II" crossover, and then Riri Williams will step into the suit.
This decision comes after Marvel hits the "reset button" and continues to re-invent all of their cornerstone comics. There is no word yet on if Williams will be introduced into the Marvel cinematic universe, but there is always potential. Marvel has began diversifying their cast, like their announcement of Spider-Man being African American. This of course shatters barriers and adds different elements to these reimagined comics.
Her new series The Invincible Iron Man will launch at the end of 2016.
