Moana is prepping for the big screen as Walt Disney Studios releases their first teaser trailer for their next original animated feature. Not only does this first look introduce us to one and only Moana (Auli'i Cravalho).. but it also brings us a taste of what the Demigod, Maui (voiced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson), is all about. We learn very early that Maui relies on his fish hook for many things--- potentially playing a key part in some brave or heroic act later on in the movie. Moana has a cuddly companion, Pua the pig. This little pink ball of joy will surely bring some chuckles along the way. Moana is a sea voyage enthusiast-- her and Maui are always on the water together. She also comes from a long line of ocean navigators, so clearly she has a good feel for what to do out at sea.The movie will revolve around the water, as well as Polynesian culture which includes spirits and mythology. Tony Award winner and 'Hamilton" star, Lin-Manuel Miranda, will be working on the music for this early winter film. Pixar legend and Frozen executive producer John Lasseter will be overseeing this project. Several other talents have been confirmed, as this movie begins to get the ball rolling. Moana debuts this Thanksgiving season (November 23).
