Another 'Hamilton' Star Joins Cast of 'Moana'

Phillipa Soo becomes the newest voice talent to join the cast of Disney's next original animated feature: Moana. Soo is most notably known for her recent role in the hit Broadway musical Hamilton. Soo is now the second Hamilton star to join the crew--- Lin-Manuel Miranda has been onboard with the project from the start. Entertainment Weekly confirms the addition of Soo, who will be playing a villager from the South Pacific island of Motunui. Pixar and Disney legend John Lasseter is overseeing the film as a producer. He has been a pioneer for animated features throughout the years, playing a key role in projects like The Brave Little Toaster, Toy Story and Frozen. Right now, the lineup for Moana consists of:

  • Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

  • Lin-Manuel Miranda

  • Phillipa Soo

  • Auli'l Cravalho

Disney's first Polynesian princess will take the cinematic stage November 23.
