Yesterday, Bernie Sanders held a rally at the Anaheim Convention Center and brought up the topic of low wages. It wasn't long before the presidential candidate started badmouthing The Walt Disney Company and calling them a "rigged economy." The Vermont Senator bashed the company after making nearly $3 billion in a single year, but refusing to pay many of the parks' employees a livable wage. Bob Iger allegedly took things to his personal Facebook account where he lashed out at the politician. Thanks to TheWrap, we are able to see Iger's response.
"To Bernie Sanders: We created 11,000 new jobs at Disneyland in the past decade, and our company has created 18,000 in the US in the last five years. How many jobs have you created? What have you contributed to the US economy?" - Robert A Iger Bernie Sanders has been vocal about taking down Wall Street and other big corporations because the CEOs make all of the money, leaving the middle class struggling. In 2015, Bob Iger made a total of $46.5 million dollars, which included many built-in stock incentives and other bonuses. Iger is now in his last year as CEO of The Walt Disney Company. Presumptive successor Tom Staggs stepped down earlier this month, leaving the future in question. Many Shanghai developments and global budget decisions are the assumed reasons for Staggs parting with the company.
