Disney's newest princess, Elena of Avalor, is set to make her Walt Disney World debut in August and will find herself at centerstage in front of Cinderella's Castle. The bilingual Disney Jr. princess will be doing meet and greets within the kingdom, but every morning she will have her own show atop the castle stage. The show will be somewhat of a ceremony including (at least) Elena herself, Cinderella and Prince Charming. With the young princess being a bit of an unknown, she will formally be introduced every morning the Magic Kingdom so guests can learn about her. She can speak both English and Spanish, and will even sing during this summer-exclusive performance. If many of you remember, back in 2013, Merida was coronated into the official Disney princess family and was a one day event-- this will be much different. Elena of Avalor's show debuts on the Disney Channel August first, and she will begin meeting in the parks shortly after. Elena is a 16 year old princess going through the same trials and tribulations that many teenage girls go though.. with a little bit more pressure due to royalty. Elena's parents were taken by the evil sorceress, Shuriki, and the young princess must use everything in her repertoire to make everything right in the kingdom; including the summoning of various spells (her power). Elena and Princess Sofia of Enhancia live in the same universe which will create some interesting crossovers further down the road. Project Runway Designer Layana Aguilar has been working on the young princess's dress. It appears to be a formal gown with a latin inspiration; hopefully Elena will appear with that diamond staff as well.
